Meet Nesha Brown | Business & Funding Strategist

What’s a quote that fuels your passion?

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

-Jeremiah 29:11

Nesha your Humble Takeover is your story. Although one post could not tell your whole story, we are glad to highlight a few of your Great efforts. Tell the family where you started and how you got to where you are today.

I strive to help entrepreneurs develop superior business plans, gain their competitive edge, and maximize on funding opportunities so that they achieve their next big breakthrough. By the grace of God, I've accomplished a wealth of things. I've been featured in magazines, invited to podcasts, hosted and invited to speak at events & nonprofits, and self published books to inspire others. I've also published other assets like workbooks , planners, etc to demonstrate the importance of financial literacy in an easy, fun and digestible way.

Which chapter in your story inspired your current venture?

I lost my mom from ovarian cancer when I was three. Throughout grade school I always had a passion for creative writing, I would win essay contests etc. My commitment to being a disciplined, committed student allowed me to graduate school at 16 years old - I kind of got a head start. Due to lack of financial literacy I made a lot of bad financial decisions, such as auto/credit card debt etc, which caused me to have to drop out of college and work two  jobs just to pay bills I created for myself so early. At the age of 19 my dad was killed at work by sheetrock falling on him and breaking his neck while I was 6 months pregnant with my daughter (another poor decision due to lack of guidance). Unfortunately when my dad passed due to his inability to plan for the future, I was left with pretty much nothing. The self-inflicted and inevitable wounds I encountered through life ignited a flame in me that motivated me to be different and make better decisions moving forward for my future. I increased my financial literacy and started my entrepreneurial journey teaching and serving within my community. Since then I'm now 24 with a successful and professional business model.”

What keeps you Humble through your success and failure in Life?

"What keeps me humble through my failure is realizing that life is not about me, it's about using my story and struggles to help inspire others. I've learned to not take adversity personally, but to roll with the punches because there is purpose in my pain. What keeps me humble through my success is understanding that I can't get caught up in the illusions of success because it all can be taken away, my focus is living and being in alignment with what God has called me to be."

What advice would you offer our family who is writing their own story?

“Don't let anyone dim your light from their limited perspective, continue to shine, what's and who is for you will align.“

Do you have any upcoming events or projects you would like to share?

"Currently I am working on a non profit project called "Women Ignited.” Women Ignited is designed to spark a flame and reveal passions and purpose to every woman who joins the tribe. Women Ignited will unlock a new level of sisterhood within Baton Rouge, LA and surrounding areas by providing the tools, resources, connections and support each woman needs in order to manifest a life she desires and deserves."

We’d love to hear more stories, please suggest 5 other persons writing their own story and Conquering the World.
