Meet Kendall Bunch | Award-winning Journalist and Life Coach

What’s a quote that fuels your passion?

Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”

Kendall, your Humble Takeover is your story. Tell the family where you started and how you got to where you are today.

I’m Kendall Bunch. Currently, I am a news anchor/reporter for WLUC-TV6 in Michigan and a life coach.

Which chapter in your story inspired your current venture?

To get where I am today, my journey was nowhere near a straight line. In 2016, I graduated from Southern University and A&M College with a Public Relations degree and no experience in News. Six months post-grad, I realized PR was not a career that I wanted to pursue. I, then, decided to create my own media brand to build experience as a journalist. As founder of my brand, I interviewed celebrities and covered community events, but I realized I still needed an educational background in journalism to advance in my career. Therefore, I completed a 4-week journalism course at New York Film Academy. It was beneficial, but not enough. I attended a conference for the National Association of Black Journalists in 2018. After talking to multiple news directors at the conference, I realized there were still skills I lacked. I didn’t give up on myself, nor did God give up on me. So, I went back to school at Temple University. From there opportunities flowed in my favor. I graduated in May 2020 with my Master’s degree in Journalism and had an anchor/reporter job waiting for me upon graduating. I am now an award-winning journalist.

What keeps you Humble through your success and failure in Life?

I am still fulfilling my purpose for God so, that keeps me humble. I still hope to inspire so many people in this world. I still have goals to accomplish. I am still growing. I am still learning. I cannot be boastful if I know my mission is not complete.

What advice would you offer others who are writing their own story?

To anyone writing their own story, know that not one path is the same. There’s not a “traditional” way to do anything. However, getting to where you’re going is your unique journey that no one can take from you. There are, also, no limitations on what you can do in this life you’re given.

Do you have any upcoming events or projects you would like to share?

I mentioned earlier that I am a life coach. I am in the process of officially launching my website for my business, KENNECT, LLC. I plan to start hosting networking events and classes by the end of this year. In the meantime, you can follow @kennect.llc on IG and find engaging and relatable reels, quotes, and videos. I am also available for 1:1 coaching to help women with self-love, dating and finding their purpose.
